Cutting the Silence: FGM Talk with Presenter Kayla Obolo
Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is the harmful practice of removing female genitalia for non-medical reasons, affecting over 200 million women and girls worldwide. It causes severe health risks, including complications during childbirth, chronic pain, and psychological trauma, all of which directly impact maternal health. This presentation will explore the link between FGM and maternal health, highlighting its risks to women’s well-being during pregnancy and childbirth. It will also discuss global efforts to end FGM through education, legal reforms, and advocacy. Join the conversation to protect women’s health and support the movement to end FGM.
