Indian-Irish novelist Cauvery Madhavan has published four novels. She will read from her deeply researched new work on traumatic memory in Ireland, The Inheritance (2024), which moves between County Cork in 1603 and the 1980s. The obsession of the novel’s non-verbal contemporary child protagonist with what is dismissed as an imaginary friend slowly unveils a terrible (and factual) four-century-old local tragedy.
Ms. Madhavan will read at 7:00pm on April 1 at Alumni Center. A reception at that venue will precede the event at 6:00pm.
Free and open to all.
