  • Lightboard Recording Studio Now Open

The CETL Educational Technologies office would like to announce that after undergoing upgrades and improvements, the Lightboard Recording Studio is once again open and available for scheduled use in Rowe 425.

The Lightboard Recording Studio is a unique and versatile recording space that UConn instructors can use to record presentation and lectures videos.  The Lightboard studio is equipped with a high definition camera, green/black screen background, professional multi-point lighting, and direct large screen presentation mirroring.  With these tools, instructors can record high-quality instructional videos beyond what is possible with standard desktop recording software such as Kaltura Capture.  Like classroom lecture recordings, Lightboard recordings automatically upload to the user’s Kaltura account, which can then be easily added to any HuskyCT course.  These high-quality instructional videos add instructor presence to the course, and can help students review and learn at their own pace or provide supplemental explanation to clarify and elaborate on difficult concepts.

Summer 2025 can be a great time to focus on making new or updated videos to enhance your teaching and student learning outcomes. Book your Lightboard sessions soon to ensure you can select your preferred dates and times.
