  • 4/3 Robert Corbett Farewell Reception

    After eleven and a half years of dedicated service, Robert Corbett, Interim AVP for University Planning, Design, and Construction, will be leaving the University of Connecticut. Robert’s leadership, vision, and expertise have left a lasting impact on the University, shaping its physical landscape and enhancing the student experience across multiple campuses.

    Throughout his tenure, Robert has overseen some of UConn’s most significant projects, including the construction of the Connecticut Residence & Dining Hall and Werth Residence Hall, the Hartford Times Building renovation to relocate our Hartford campus to the heart of downtown, and extensive work across all of our Regional Campuses. His strategic negotiation efforts secured housing for the Stamford and Hartford campuses, ensuring accessibility and growth for our students.

    Robert has worked closely with the Board of Trustees and senior staff, shepherding complex projects from concept to completion. His keen eye for detail and commitment to excellence have ensured that every project met the highest standards of design and functionality. He also played a key role in supporting UConn Athletics, contributing to the Gampel Pavilion restoration and other facility improvements that have strengthened the university’s athletic infrastructure.

    Beyond his technical expertise, Robert has been a valued colleague, mentor, and leader, known for his ability to navigate challenges with professionalism and grace. His contributions will leave a lasting legacy, and he will be deeply missed.

    Please join us in celebrating Robert’s remarkable career and wishing him well in his next chapter at a farewell ice cream social on April 3 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the UPDC offices, 3 Discovery Drive, Storrs.
