Xiang Gao, based in San Diego, CA, US, is currently a Vice President, Head of Pharmacokinetics and Clinical Pharmacology, at Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. With over 27 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry he has contributed to the scientific community with 43 published papers, 87 abstracts, and 9 patents. Dr. Gao has been instrumental in the development and approval of numerous life-changing drugs, including Abilify, Metaglip, Xiapex, Revatio, Eliquis, Soliris, Ultomiris, Strensiq, and Wainua, as well as numerous IND and NDA filings. Outside of work, Dr. Gao enjoys traveling, photography, table tennis, and college football.
