Dear Campus Commnunity,
I am pleased to announce that Shea Middleton has been selected as the new Associate Director of Community Standards at the University of Connecticut. Shea brings extensive experience in student conduct, Title IX investigations, and higher education leadership, making him a valuable addition to our team.
Shea has been an integral part of UConn’s Office of Community Standards since November 2022, serving as Assistant Director. In this role, he has conducted complex investigations, collaborated with campus partners, and contributed to policy development and case management. Prior to joining UConn, Shea held leadership positions at the University of New Haven and Brown University, where he oversaw student conduct processes, trained conduct officers, and led initiatives to support student accountability and community standards.
As Associate Director, Shea will play a key role in managing the day-to-day operations of the Office of Community Standards, supervising staff, leading investigations, and ensuring a fair and educational student conduct process. His dedication to student development, conflict resolution, and policy enforcement will strengthen our efforts to foster a safe and inclusive campus community.
Please join me in congratulating Shea on his new role! We look forward to his continued contributions and leadership in Community Standards.
Best regards,
Kim Beardsley-Carr
