Webinar: Employer-Based Agreements and Experiential Learning -
The Do's and Don'ts for Department Heads, Instructors, and Advisors
Join The Center for Career Readiness and Life Skills and the Office of the General Counsel to learn how to support students who find an Experiential Learning (EL) opportunity (e.g. - internship, clinical, practicum, research, etc.) on their own and have been asked by their employer to have a UConn representative sign a legal document, before they can participate in the experience.
Questions such as the ones below will be discussed:
· What is the difference between an affiliation agreement and other EL agreements?
· Does UConn need an agreement with a company in order for a student to participate in an EL opportunity?
· What if a student or company asks UConn to provide an agreement?
· Who can sign EL agreements?
· What information about the student can be shared with the employer or organization?
· Does a student need liability insurance and if yes, how do they get it?
· Are there any offices that can assist UConn staff or faculty with EL agreements?
· Does the student have to earn credit if there is an agreement between a department or UConn and the employer?
