Students will need permission to enroll. To get permission, they should send the instructor an email asking for permission that also includes the course for which they are LAing.

    Course description

This 2-credit course is designed for students who are currently engaged as Learning Assistants (LAs, undergraduate students who facilitate small-group active learning, either in-person or online). The course will focus on the comprehension, demonstration, and application of evidence-based strategies for LAs. Students will expand their repertoire of effective learning and instructional strategies by applying the learning sciences to their practice as students, LAs, and professionals.

Note - this course isn't meant to replace the compensation (either credit or salary) that students receive for their LA duties. It is a training course that they take only once. The syllabus is linked here.
