The UConn Office of Veterans and Military Programs will be hosting its 11th Annual Care Package Drive! Consider placing a collection box in your area! Collected items will be donated to shelters which provide housing, training, job placement, and other services to the homeless and those in need with a focus on veterans. The official start and end dates of the drive are Monday, December 2nd to Friday, December 20th.
This year’s winners will receive a commemorative trophy to showcase their team spirit!
Thank you for your participation in previous years. If you wish to be competitive, come up with a team name for your office or group and attach the name to your donation bags or boxes! An editable copy of our pre-made flyer is attached to hang in your office area. May the best team win! Team POC, please fill out this Excel File. Help show our veterans and our community how much UConn cares! If you would like to collect donations and not compete, the same rules apply: please drop donations off by Friday, December 20th at the Hawley Armory (359 Mansfield Road). Feel free to share with any other employees or departments that you think will be interested and let me know if you have any questions.
To ensure we can meet the specific needs of our recipients, we kindly ask that donations be limited to the following items. Thank you for your understanding and support! (Only new and unused items will be accepted):
