Are you a female endurance runner interested in participating in a collagen peptide study?
Researchers in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at the University of Connecticut are recruiting female endurance runners to participate in a 35-day study on the effects of collagen peptide supplementation on bone metabolism, inflammation, tendon health, and recovery.
We are looking for healthy, premenopausal women who:
- Are aged 18-35
- Run at least 35 miles per week
- Have a regular menstrual cycle
Study Details: Participants will take part in three lab visits (approximately 1 hour each) at the Performance Nutrition and Body Composition Lab on UConn's Storrs Campus. Lab visits include assessments such as body composition analysis, blood draws, tendon/muscle ultrasounds, and force plate assessments.
Additional study tasks include:
- Dietary and exercise tracking (during two 3-day periods)
- Completing recovery questionnaires on five days
- Collecting a stool sample (once)
Compensation and Benefits: Participants will receive $150, along with bone density results (from DXA scan) and force plate performance test results.
Location: Performance Nutrition and Body Composition Lab
