    Join your colleagues in an engaging exploration of Linda Suskie's seminal work, Assessing Student Learning: A Common Sense Guide. This multi-session book club offers faculty members a unique opportunity to delve deep into best practices for student assessment, fostering a collaborative environment for professional growth and pedagogical enhancement. Participants will unpack Suskie's practical insights, discuss real-world applications, and develop strategies to implement effective assessment techniques in their own courses. This book club is designed to empower faculty with the knowledge and tools to create meaningful, equitable, and efficient assessment practices that truly measure student learning and drive educational improvement.   

    By the end of this book club, participants will be able to: 

    1. Articulate the key principles of effective student learning assessment 

    2. Design clear, measurable learning outcomes for their courses 

    3. Implement a variety of assessment techniques appropriate for their discipline 

    4. Develop and use rubrics to enhance grading consistency and feedback 

    5. Analyze assessment data to inform teaching practices and curriculum development 

    6. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in their department and institution
