Senator Blumenthal is an American lawyer and politician who is the senior US senator in Connecticut. He has held this seat since 2011. He was reelected in 2016, becoming the first person to recieve more than a million votes in a statewide election in Connecticut, and reelected again in 2022. Previously he was also Attorney General of Connecticut from 1991 to 2011.
