  • 3/31 MS In Clinical and Translational Research

Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Research

The Master of Science in Clinical and Translational Research (MSCTR), offered through the Graduate School, provides a trans-disciplinary curriculum to clinicians to advance their careers and become successful independent investigators in clinical and translational research. Studies have shown that structured educational opportunities similar to the MSCTR successfully develop clinical and translational investigators to be competitive for extramural funding. The program focuses on the preparation of individuals with established, terminal degrees in a health-related field (MD, Ph.D., Pharm.D., DDS, DMD or DNP) to conduct independent research in translation of information from the basic sciences to the clinic and to the community.

    Program Leadership:

The Masters Program is led by a team of investigators/educators – Cato Laurencin, MD, Ph.D.; Howard Tennen, Ph.D.; Helen (Zhao) Wu, Ph.D.; Mark Litt, Ph.D.; Ruth Lucas, Ph.D, RNC, CLS, FAAN; James Grady, Dr.PH, MPH, PSTAT®; Nancy Redeker, Ph.D., RN, FAHA, FAAN; and Ian Michelow, MD, FCPaed. In addition, faculty from UConn Health, UConn–Storrs, Connecticut Children’s and Hartford HealthCare teach and/or mentor prospective students.
