This workshop will explore the conventions of effective introductions (for articles, dissertations, and more) across disciplines, as well as guide attendees through reflecting on and applying the introduction conventions of their own fields. Participants should bring: (1) a draft introduction for a project they're working on; and (2) a sample of similar writing in their field, such as a journal article or introduction to a book they admire (depending on whether they're working on an article, other paper, or their dissertation).
