As a reminder, the Career Progression Application Period is now open and will close for submission on September 30, 2024. Eligible employees should submit the Career Progression Application Form as soon as possible.
As shared earlier this summer, the Career Progression program has undergone several changes to include consolidated competencies, updated framework requirements, and an application process initiated by the employee.
Please be mindful of the following important points for this application period:
- Supervisors should continually hold conversations with their staff regarding the employees’ progress through the established competencies stated in their respective frameworks. Note: Supervisors should additionally continue to work with their HR Specialist on updating frameworks based on the new requirements.
- Employees must submit their Career Progression Application Form by September 30th.
- Supervisors will have an opportunity to review an employee’s application and provide a disposition through the Kuali Build workflow. Supervisors must evaluate and determine if an employee has successfully demonstrated achievement of all competencies for that rank, as defined by the framework.

Should the employee’s Career Progression application be approved, their new rank and salary will be effective September 1, 2024.
Note: Salary increases for approved Career Progression applications will be department-funded and are subject to fiscal constraints.
Human Resources will provide additional timelines for final approvals and paycheck dates shortly after the close of the application period.
