  • 10/18 Join Us for the Annual EYF Conference

    Hello Faculty!

We are excited to announce our annual Engineering Your Future (EYF) conference) for 8th-grade boys from underrepresented backgrounds held on October 18th! EYF offers a fantastic opportunity for young learners to be introduced to role models who look like them in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Our goal is to host students from populations that are underrepresented in engineering in hopes of igniting a flame to inspire these students to consider STEM fields and their overall potential.

The program is a one-day conference that is designed to be hands-on, inquiry-based activities, with guest speakers, and exciting group demonstrations. Food and equipment will be provided. We believe this is a great way for children to explore their interest in STEM fields, build confidence, and connect with peers from across Connecticut. This event is supported by UConn’s student chapters of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), and Engineering Ambassadors (EA), who volunteer their members every year to lead this event.

If you have a middle schooler at home who might be interested, we'd love to have them join us! For more information, visit our website https://inclusion.engr.uconn.edu/eyf/
