  • Recruiting Students for Paid Health Behavior Study

We want to be the motivation U need to improve your health behaviors!

We are looking for UConn students ages 18-35 who want to improve their health behaviors to participate in the Mindful U program – a low-commitment, primarily online study which aims to improve participants' overall health behaviors with the use of mindfulness practices, positive encouragement, and social support to create sustainable behavior change!

If interested, you will first take our online survey to determine eligibility. The online survey should take approximately 20 minutes to complete and asks about your current health behaviors (eating habits, physical activity, sleep, stress), and non-identifiable information (age, gender, ethnicity, student/alumna status). The survey is completely voluntary and confidential. Compensation in the form of a small gift (valued at less than $5) will be provided to those who fully complete the survey.

Participants who complete the full study will receive monetary compensation.

Participation in the full study will include: (approximately 3 hr total time commitment)

    • Online goal setting session with a registered dietitian or dietetics graduate student

    • In person lab session

    • You will receive 3 weekly text messages or emails tailored to your individual health goals to help you accomplish them over 9 weeks

    • You will be expected to answer weekly surveys about your goal progress (approx 1 minute to complete each)

    • Follow up online session and lab session

    If interested, please contact mindfuluproject@gmail.com

We will respond with the survey link and more information about the study. We can’t wait to hear from you, thank you!
