It is with sadness that we write to share of recent passing of one of our students, Taylor Rogers. Taylor began her UConn career in the fall of 2022 at the Stamford campus. After spending two years at Stamford, she was ready to change to the Storrs campus this fall. From Bronx, NY, Taylor was a student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at studying Psychological Sciences. Her future goals included attending medical school after graduating from UConn.
Taylor’s family will hold a celebration of life service on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the Macedonia Baptist Church located at 141 South 9th Ave, Mount Vernon, NY 10550. The wake is from 11am-noon and the celebration service will begin at noon. Family and friends are invited to attend and encouraged to wear shades of brown and white.
Condolences to the Taylor’s family can be sent to the Dean of Students Office, 233 Glenbrook Road, Unit-4062, Storrs, CT, 06269-4062.

The loss of a classmate is extremely difficult, and our deepest sympathy goes out to Taylor’s family and friends during this time of loss.
This is a difficult time for the University as we navigate the many emotions people have after experiencing the loss of another community member. In addition to the sadness of this immediate incident, we are aware that tragedy may trigger our own personal histories of loss and grief. Staff and faculty are encouraged to reach out to UConn’s Employee Assistance Program if they are in need of support.
Sincerely,
Fany D. Hannon, Dean of Students
