Additional UConn Information

  • 6/17 UConn Housing: Group Early Arrival Form Open

6/17 Residential Student Early Arrival Process

    • Early Arrival Information Fall 2024
    • There will be an Early Arrival Process for groups and individual students. There will be a limit for the group early arrival days and please understand that requests for specific days may not be approved. Approvals will depend on the nature of the request, total number of students requested and department/office contribution to welcoming and supporting student arrival.
    • Early Arrival check-in location will be in the Charter Oak Community Center.

    Timeline:

    • June 17 – July 12: requests for student early arrivals submitted. The form is live!
    • Ongoing: requests are reviewed by committee and student eligibility is confirmed (organizers will be asked for student rosters)
    • July 22-26: request decision provided by committee. Those approved can make changes through July 26 (add or remove students), requests will be reviewed by a committee of staff from across the university. The committee will determine both approval or denial and if early arrival charges are applicable to the group.
    • July 29: Organizers notify students of their approved early arrival
    • August 5: Requested students will receive an email from Reslife with check-in instructions.
    • August 5 – August 14: Students not requested as group Early Arrivals can apply as an individual Early Arrival.
    • August 16, 19 and 20 – Group Early Arrival Days.
    • August 20, 22 and 23 – Individual early arrival days.
    • August 22 and 23 – First year students and approved siblings can move in.
    • August 24 and 25 - Continuing students, Campus Change, and transfer students can begin to move-in.

    Early Arrival Program Organizer:

    • The organizer is a professional staff member (non-student staff) responsible for submitting requests for student early arrivals and managing communication with the corresponding students.
    • Organizer must submit web form starting June 17 at Faculty and Staff Early Arrival Information | Residential Life (uconn.edu) providing group information and reason for students needing to arrive to campus early. Information should include how this office/department contributes to welcoming students (hosting an event or program, providing support during move in days, etc.)
    • Late submissions and late additions will not be accepted. A firm deadline is necessary to effectively designate all student early arrivals, send communication and organize keys for their arrival.
    • For more information, contact: The Residential Life Office at uconnearlyarrival@uconn.edu

Please note, there will be no early arrivials allowed for students who live in Connecticut Hall (New South Campus). Any student apart of your group with housing assignments for Connecticut Hall will not be approved and need to find alternative arrangments until the continuing students move in dates.
