A dissertation study is taking place this Summer through the Neag School of Education. We are looking for 1st through 4th graders to complete some reading-related assessments as a way to identify additional sources of reading difficulty. Details are provided below.
What Is Involved?
- Students will work 1-1 with a research assistant for about 1 hour
- Participation can take place at a UConn campus (Storrs, Hartford or Waterbury) or a public library
- Participants will receive a summary of their word reading, decoding, vocabulary, spelling and phonological awareness skills
- Travel will be compensated in the form of a gift card
Who Can Participate?
Students who are:
- in 1st through 4th grade next school year (2024-25)
- have English as first language
- able to complete reading activities without significant behavior disruptions and without hearing difficulty
