Our annual complete Storrs campus steam shutdown will be from Sunday afternoon May 5, 2024 through Friday, May 10. This will enable Facilities Operations to perform necessary repairs, improvements, and maintenance to the steam and condensate distribution system. On Friday, May 10, the system will be re-activated. Restoring pressure may take up to 24 hours.
During this shutdown period, many buildings serviced by the central steam system will not have heat and in some instances, hot water will not be available for showers, dishwashing, or lab needs.
