  • 4/26 Storytelling to Statement: CAHNR DEIJ Statement

Storytelling to Statement: A Creative Collaboration toward a Beloved Community

Creating a DEIJ Statement for CAHNR

The CAHNR Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice SVIC with funding from the college SVIC initiative and in collaboration with the HartBeat Ensemble invites students, faculty, staff and administrators to join us for two spring workshops designed to co-create a Diversity Statement for the college.

This task will be achieved through a multi-step process of engagement across CAHNR. The first in-person workshop on April 26 will bring students, faculty, and staff together to co-develop a draft DEIJ statement through a process that leverages Story Circles and collaborative dialogue. The draft statement will then be circulated across the broader CAHNR community for additional input. The second in-person workshop on May 13 will aim to finalize the statement and identify actionable next steps to create a DEIJ plan for the college.

Participation of CAHNR students, faculty, and staff is important and all are encouraged to attend the in-person workshops if possible. The RSVP form will allow you to register for either (or both) workshops, or to indicate a preference for providing digital feedback on the draft statement if you are unable to attend either event.
