This presentation hosted in collaboration by University Events and Conference Services and Emergency Management will help those who plan events with actionable insights and practical strategies to mitigate risks, respond effectively to emergencies, and ensure the safety and well-being of all event stakeholders. By prioritizing preparedness, communication, and continuous improvement, the goal is for event organizers to navigate crises with confidence and professionalism. Those that attend will examine real life case studies and will walk away with strategies to use, along with a pre-event safety checklist.
Join Amy Erhart, Program Coordinator at University Events and Conference Services, and co-facilitators from the UConn Office of Emergency Management: Mary Rose Duberek and Nicole Hawley, as they lead you through Effective Communication Strategies, the Roles of Event Staff and Volunteers, Risk Assessment, and more.
Cookies and water will be provided and please feel free to bring your lunch with you - the brown bag session is meant to be collaborative and informal.
