Want to change the world? Start with kids! Project Citizen, a program created by the Center for Civic Education and utilized in more than 70 countries around the world, is a unique curriculum for upper elementary, middle, and high school students, designed to promote responsible participation in local and state government. Throughout the course of this program, students work together to identify a public policy issue in their community and develop an action plan for local government leaders to use in addressing the issue. The work culminates with a class portfolio that helps kids understand the connections between their action and public policy.
