  • Student Financial Award: Leadership Scholarship

    The Cohen Student Leadership Scholarship for Enhancing Community offers a significant scholarship opportunity to students annually. Recipients also receive an opportunity to go through a Leadership Day Conference as well as the Cohen Scholarship Gala Dinner. 

     

    Self-nominate or nominate a student involved with a registered student organization who has demonstrated a significant and active commitment to eliminating bigotry, prejudice, discrimination, and to fostering tolerance and understanding among the campus community. 

     

    Nominate someone exceptional today and be part of the transformative Cohen experience!

     

    Who is Eligible?

    - Full-time undergraduate students on any UConn campus with work/service or initiatives that seek to eliminate discrimination.

    - Must be an active member in an active registered student organization (RSO) at UConn. 

     

    Additional Eligibility Requirements:

    - Activity, service, or initiative must be tied to the RSO that the student is a member of.

    - Students must: 1) demonstrate financial need and 2) be in good academic standing

     

    Award History

    The Martha and Albert Cohen Scholarship for Enhancing Community Award is open through January 4, 2024. This scholarship was established in 1990 by the compassionate Husky, Stephen Cohen, in loving member of his parents. Stephen Cohen forged a legacy of support for students actively combating and eliminating bigotry, prejudice, and discrimination. His bequest in 2017 elevated the Cohen Scholarship, ensuring its perpetual impact on the UConn community.
