The UConn Office of Veterans and Military Programs will be hosting its 10th Annual Care Package Drive! Consider placing a collection box in your area! Collected items will be donated to shelters which provide housing, training, job placement, and other services to the homeless and those in need with a focus on veterans. The official start and end dates of the drive are Monday, November 27th to Friday, December 22nd.
Thank you for your participation in previous years. If you wish to compete, come up with a team name for your office or group and attach the name to your donation bags or boxes! Email emily.i.lugo@uconn.edu if you'd like an editable copy of our pre-made flyer which can be displayed in your office area. May the best team win! Help show our veterans and our community how much UConn cares! If you would like to collect donations and not compete, feel free to drop off your donations by Friday, December 22nd at the Hawley Armory.
This year’s winners will receive a commemorative trophy to showcase their team spirit!
We’re especially excited this year because we will be collecting items in a less traditional format than our past years. Our team will go around your collection box locations to collect all the items donated on Thursday, December 21st. We will come around with a special holiday treat, so please be sure all your staff are available to celebrate with us. To ensure a time that works for your team, please fill out the DONATION DRIVE CONTACT SHEET with your information and the desired time you’d like for the collection boxes to be picked up. Note that we can only pick up donations on the 21st at the Storrs campus. Please let me know if you have any questions.
