Dear International Students and Scholars,
Are you planning to travel outside the U.S. during Thanksgiving and/or winter break? If so, you must report your travel before you depart the U.S. You must have a valid travel signature on your I-20 when reentering the country.
Please check page two of your current I-20 to determine if you already have a valid signature. As a reminder, travel signatures are valid for one year from date of issue (if a current student). You must still report your travel even if you do not require a travel signature.
If you plan to travel during a break period and need a travel signature, you must submit a travel request through the ISSS website. Once processed, you will be notified with instructions for retrieving your I-20 with travel signature through the ISSS portal.
As a general reminder, all ISSS processing takes approximately one to two weeks to complete. Please submit any requests through the appropriate link to ISSS at least two weeks prior to the date needed. While a valid travel signature is not needed to leave the US, it is needed to reenter so please plan accordingly to ensure that you have it before returning from any trip abroad.
