  • 10/19 CCEI Timely Topics: Women in Business Leadership

One of the most powerful tools for an entrepreneur is being connected to the right resources when they are needed most. Timely Topics, a series hosted by the Connecticut Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, features panels of speakers, workshops to engage our entrepreneurs, and fireside chats with successful business leaders. These sessions are a way for CCEI to provide ongoing opportunities for students, faculty, and alumni entrepreneurs to learn, grow, and connect.

Our annual tradition of celebrating Women In Entrepreneurship week is back! Hear from four members of our community on challenges they face, overcoming obstacles, insights, plus much more!

Jennifer Mathieu is the Executive Director of CCEI and supports economic development by fostering initiatives for startups and small businesses at UConn, across Connecticut and to alumni worldwide. In this role, she has helped to launch and grow hundreds of startups and several new programs and initiatives to support entrepreneurs. She is a mentor within community organizations, serves on several advisory boards for startups, and works one-on-one with entrepreneurs through her consulting business.

Hayley Segar is the founder of onewith, inventor of patent-pending swimsuits that fit like underwear™, and a proud UConn graduate and CCEI alum. She lives on the Connecticut shoreline with her two rescue cats.

Grace Napolitano has had a 20+ year career in media sales, leading teams to sell multi-million dollars in ad revenue. She loves sales and wants all women business owners to fall in love with sales to reach their businesses' full potential!

Milena (Stankova) Erwin is an educator, non-profit leader and growth consultant. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the CT Technology Council. Having run a successful women's business center, and now leading the CTC's Women of Innovation awards, Milena is passionate about supporting women as their craft their own unique paths to success. Milena teaches at the UConn School of Business, is a native of Bulgaria, has two sons, and lives in South Windsor.
