Information for Deans, Directors, and Department Heads

  • 10/24 Summer 2024 Online Course Call for Proposals

eCampus and the Office of Summer and Winter Programs are making a direct request to department heads to identify undergraduate courses that might be developed and offered in Summer 2024 in an online asynchronous (OA) format. As in past years, we have identified specific criteria for courses to receive eCampus funding and course design support. Additionally, we have worked with the CCC+ committee to take into account upcoming Common Curriculum timelines and initiatives. The result is a call for proposals for a very specific subset of courses that meet the following criteria:

    1. Courses that are currently approved as part of the General Education curriculum
    2. Courses that have or will have been submitted by the department to the CCC+ committee for Direct Transition from GEOC to Common Curriculum designation by the November 1st deadline
    3. Courses that have not yet been developed in collaboration with eCampus for online delivery
    4. Courses with fall and spring enrollment patterns that correlate with positive summer enrollments
    5. Courses that will be offered in a 5 or 6-week summer session for 3 consecutive years

To be considered for course support, all criteria need to be met.

Department heads are encouraged to identify courses, discuss this opportunity with interested faculty, and, if courses are identified, ask that faculty submit requests for support through the eCampus Online Course Support Request Process by October 24, 2023.

Please note, we are already looking ahead to Summer 2025 and will work closely with the CCC+ committee, department heads, and faculty to identify newly approved Common Curriculum courses that might subsequently be developed for online delivery. Feel free to begin these conversations with us prior to that time if you have specific concerns or questions.
