  • Office of Admissions Hiring Tour Guides

The Office of Admissions at the Lodewick Visitors Center is currently hiring for two roles and we would love your help promoting these opportunities among your staff and students. It is important to us that we have a tour guide community fully representative of the UConn community. This is also a great way for students who are involved in your areas of work to promote their involvement or academic interests to prospective students. Our priority deadline for the application is October 2nd.

We offer flexible hours that can range as low as 4-6 hours per week or as much as 10-12 hours per week on average.

Here is a brief description of our roles, with the applications linked. More in-depth descriptions are offered on the application page.

    Husky Visitor Information Program (VIP)

The Husky VIP role is a paid position and is the tour guide program which primarily supports the general daily campus visit program and gives tours at all admissions events during the academic year. Husky VIPs are also trained to support general customer service roles such as answering phones, working reception desks in the Lodewick Visitors Center and Tasker Hall, and working check-in for campus tours and admissions events.

    Husky Insider Application

The Husky Insider role is a paid position for students who are interested in recruiting students to UConn from underrepresented populations. Husky Insiders give tours to school groups, conduct outreach to underrepresented students via phone and video chat, and conduct other outreach activities. Husky Insiders play an important role in the recruitment of underrepresented students.

We are also seeking students who wish to get involved with recruitment to join our Husky Ambassadors student group.

Husky Ambassadors play an important role in recruitment by conducting school or college tours, hosting Husky for a Day student shadow program, greeting guests for campus tours and events, and supporting our large open houses.
