Gender, Sex, and Pain Study
The UConn School of Nursing is looking to recruit participants to explore the relations between gender,
sex, and pain.
To Be Eligible:
- Between 18 and 64 years old
- Transgender or non-binary individuals (including genderfluid, genderqueer, agender, Two-Spirit, etc.)
- Living without a painful disorder
- Living without a heart disorder, Raynaud’s Disease, or cold agglutinin disease
- Understands written and spoken English
We will ask you to come in for one 1-hour study visit to answer questions about gender, sex, and pain.
You will also be asked to put your arm in ice-cold water. Last, we will collect a saliva sample.
Participants who complete the study will receive a $20 gift card for their participation. No longer recruiting cisgender men and women.
This study is being conducted under the direction of Dr. Natalie J. Shook.
