ALFAS is a dynamic organization dedicated to representing, addressing the needs, and amplifying the voices of UConn's Latinx/a/o community. Our mission is to advance educational and work opportunities that enhance the status of Latinxs/as/os within the University.
By joining ALFAS, you will:
Collaborate closely with the University administration to promote the upward mobility of Latinxs/as/os at all levels, supporting diversity, recruitment, and retention efforts.
Advocate for a positive representation of Latinxs/as/os within the University community.
Participate in open forums to discuss issues related to the overall well-being of the Latinx/a/o community.
Represent and be a voice for the Latinx/a/o community on UConn campuses.
Contribute to increased Latinx/a/o representation on University committees, boards, searches, and commissions.
Establish a strong network of support among fellow UConn Latinxs/as/os.
Access and disseminate relevant information to fellow Latinx/a/o faculty, staff, and students.
Collaborate with other Latinx/a/o entities at local and state levels to provide representation and policy recommendations.
Membership is open to all faculty and professional employees who share our passion for promoting Latinx/a/o issues and supporting our mission.
