  • Make an Impact in UConn's Latinx/a/o Community

    Greetings colleagues:

Are you passionate about promoting diversity, raising awareness about important issues, and making a positive impact within UConn's Latinx/a/o community? If so, we invite you to become a part of the Association of Latinx/a/o Faculty and Staff (ALFAS)!

ALFAS is a dynamic organization dedicated to representing, addressing the needs, and amplifying the voices of UConn's Latinx/a/o community. Our mission is to advance educational and work opportunities that enhance the status of Latinxs/as/os within the University.

    By joining ALFAS, you will:

Collaborate closely with the University administration to promote the upward mobility of Latinxs/as/os at all levels, supporting diversity, recruitment, and retention efforts.

Advocate for a positive representation of Latinxs/as/os within the University community.

Participate in open forums to discuss issues related to the overall well-being of the Latinx/a/o community.

Represent and be a voice for the Latinx/a/o community on UConn campuses.

Contribute to increased Latinx/a/o representation on University committees, boards, searches, and commissions.

Establish a strong network of support among fellow UConn Latinxs/as/os.

Access and disseminate relevant information to fellow Latinx/a/o faculty, staff, and students.

Collaborate with other Latinx/a/o entities at local and state levels to provide representation and policy recommendations.

Membership is open to all faculty and professional employees who share our passion for promoting Latinx/a/o issues and supporting our mission. To learn more and join us in creating a more inclusive and empowered community, please visit our website.
