The UConn Library is hosting online citation management workshops throughout the Fall 2023 semester! Whether you're brand new to using RefWorks or Zotero, or are looking to learn advanced tips and tricks, we have a session just for you!

RefWorks for New Users: Basics for Beginners
Learn to manage your references with RefWorks, a web-based citation management tool. This introductory workshop covers:
Importing, viewing, and editing references
Searching your references
Creating bibliographies
Citing sources while writing
The session is fully online and includes both demonstration and time for questions. Attendees will receive instructions for creating their RefWorks accounts in advance.

RefWorks is so much more than a place to store your references! This advanced workshop covers:
Organizing your library with folders or tags
Dealing with duplicate references
Sharing references with colleagues
Creating, modifying, and sharing project libraries
The session is fully online and includes both demonstration and time for questions. Attendees should already have basic RefWorks skills, including importing, viewing, and editing references. If you're new to RefWorks, please register for a RefWorks for New Users workshop first!

Zotero for New Users: Basics for Beginners
Learn to manage your references with Zotero, an open source citation management tool. This introductory workshop covers:
Setting up essential preferences
Importing, viewing, and editing references

The session is fully online and includes both demonstration and time for questions. Attendees will receive instructions for installing Zotero, setting up the Zotero browser extension, and creating their Zotero accounts in advance.

Zotero offers excellent collaboration options through the use of group libraries, as well as a robust interface for the annotation of PDF files. This advanced workshop covers:
Creating, managing, and accessing group libraries
Annotating PDF files inside Zotero
Creating notes with annotations
Citing from multiple libraries in Microsoft Word
Inserting notes in Microsoft Word
