  • Tricia Leahey Appointed InCHIP Director

UConn Research is pleased to announce that Dr. Tricia Leahey has been appointed the permanent Director of the Institute for Collaboration on Health, Intervention, and Policy (InCHIP). She has served as the interim director for the last year following former Director Amy Gorin’s promotion to Vice Provost.

Under Dr. Leahey’s leadership, InCHIP has continued to excel in improving the health of Connecticut residents. Across the region, InCHIP is recognized for its expertise, including its work improving child health, gun violence prevention, and a host of other interdisciplinary areas. As Director, she hopes to help establish InCHIP as a national and international leader in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.

Dr. Leahey is a Co-Director of the UConn Weight Management Research Group, one of several interest groups within InCHIP. She is a renowned researcher in the field of behavioral interventions for weight loss and weight loss maintenance and has earned significant funding from the National Institutes of Health. Her talents extend to the classroom as well: she is a former recipient of UConn’s Teaching Excellence Award.

    Congratulations, Dr. Leahey!
