On August 30th, the Registrar's office, in combination with ITS, made some changes in Student Admin designed to streamline our compliance with federal reporting requirements. Specifically, we have populated the expected graduation term (EGT) for all students. Historically, this field has only been populated for undergraduates when they applied for graduation. Now, there are EGTs for all students regardless of their career or academic level.
What does this mean? For starters, students will see the EGT in their student center. This does not mean that the student has applied for graduation, nor does it mean that they must (or should) graduate on that semester. Rather, it is an estimate that will be sent to the National Student Clearinghouse who coordinate many aspects of financial aid and repayment.
Additionally, for Student Admin administrators, the student's program/plan page will display this value regardless of whether or not the student has applied for graduation. In order to tell if the student is a candidate, you will need to look on the 5th tab, labelled "Student Degrees."
