  • Volunteers Wanted For a Driving Simulator Research

Evaluating the Impacts of Real-Time Warnings and Variable Speed Limits on Safety and Travel Reliability during Weather Events.

    ● The purpose of this study is to observe behavior of drivers in pre-configured scenarios with adverse weather conditions to learn how to improve road safety in these scenarios.

    ● You will operate a motor vehicle and wear an eye tracker in a driving simulator environment. This is a full-sized sedan converted for use in research and surrounded by several projection screens which will display a virtual environment. Inside the virtual environment, the vehicle will behave as if it were a motor vehicle on an actual road.

    ● The experiment will include a warmup session, the main experiment, and a post experiment survey. Participating will take about 30 minutes of your time.

    ● To be eligible to participate, you must be at least 18 years old, hold a valid driver’s license, and have at least 2 years of driving experience.

    ● Participants will receive $20 cash for participating in the experiment.
