Since the start of school, construction for the new South Campus Residence Hall has resumed to the normal 8AM construction time. On occasion, we need to start construction early to allow for sufficient time to finish the concrete pouring of the slabs. With that said, we have a few dates scheduled for the upcoming early starts of construction, for this very purpose.
Starting this FRIDAY SEPT 1st, construction start for EARLY concrete pours will be taking place starting at 5AM for the 6th Floor Area F pour.
The frequency of the concrete pours will be sporadic but is required to get the remaining concrete pours completed for the project. As you know, pouring of the concrete slab takes a very large crew covering a very large area, and the time to finish the concrete and allow it to set is the most time-consuming part, which takes most of the day and hours into the night. This is the reason they need to start as early as possible.
The next upcoming EARLY 5am Concrete Pours will be as follows: (subject to change depending on the weather)
Area F Basement Slab concrete Pour – scheduled for SEPT 7th or 8th - starting at 5AM
Area E & F – Roof deck concrete pour – scheduled for SEPT 14th or 15th – starting at 5AM
