I am pleased to announce that two new attorneys have joined UConn's Office of the General Counsel. Please join me in welcoming both of them to the University.
Michael Sullivan – Mike is a Senior Attorney in the General Counsel's office. He comes to us from the state Office of Policy and Management (OPM) where he served as the Undersecretary for Legal Affairs since January 2012. Prior to that he worked for six years as an Assistant Attorney General assigned to UConn. Mike's extensive public service includes working as legal counsel to the House Majority Leader, the State Comptroller and the Department of Environmental Protection. Mike graduated from Georgetown University Law School while working in the State of Connecticut’s Washington DC office. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Texas and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts. Mike will play a leadership role on a number of strategic initiatives and will support the University's collaborations with state executive agencies and the legislature.
Patrick Nevins – Patrick is an Attorney in the General Counsel's office. He joins us from the law firm of Wiggin and Dana, in New Haven, where he practiced for six years focusing on commercial transactions, intellectual property licensing, mergers and acquisitions and other general corporate work – particularly in the tech sector. Patrick is a double Husky, having received a JD from UConn Law School and a BA in political science from CLAS. Patrick will provide legal services related to collaborations with private partners and other commercial and business matters.
Mike and Patrick join the General Counsel's other lawyers: Associate General Counsel Nicole Gelston, Attorney Bob Sitkowski (real estate), Attorney Lesley Salafia (immigration) and Assistant Attorney General Holly Bray, who is assigned full time to UConn.
