Seminar Title: “Enhanced local and systemic antitumor effects by singlet oxygen-activatable prodrugs in combination with photodynamic therapy”
Wednesday, September 6 from 3:30 – 4:30 PBB 131
Research Lab:
My research primarily focuses on pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry, particularly in the areas of drug discovery and delivery for the treatment of breast, ovarian, and bladder cancers. I possess expertise in various disciplines, including organic synthesis, medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry, photomedicine, photophysics, and pharmacology. As a recipient of the Postdoctoral Award from the Department of Defense (DoD) Breast Cancer Research Program (BCRP), I synthesized core-modified porphyrin (CMP)-based photosensitizers at the Department of Chemistry, SUNY at Buffalo. I then evaluated the biological properties of these photosensitizers at the Biochemistry & Biophysics Department at the University of Rochester Medical School.
