  • Seeking Aged 30-80 Participants: Hearing Study

Participants Wanted for a Research Study

    What is this study about?
We want to understand the effect of aging on hearing health.

    Who can participate?
We are recruiting individuals in all age groups across the lifespan! Anyone over the age 18 who is a native English speaker, has normal hearing, and no history of neurological disorders can participate.

What will I have to do?
Participants will come to the Phillips Communication Sciences Building on the UConn campus for one (~2 hour) visit. Participation will include hearing assessments and the collection of a blood sample.
As compensation for participating in the study, participants will receive up to $40.
You may also be eligible to participate in a follow-up study that would involve wearing a small device that measures your exposure to music/noise across daily listening activities. For this follow-up study, you could get paid $100/week.

The research is conducted under the direction of Dr. Erika Skoe and Dr. Jennifer Tufts of the Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences Department at the University of Connecticut.
