  • HESA Assessment Project Site Interest for AY 23-24

UConn's Higher Education and Student Affairs Masters (HESA) program is seeking host sites for students assessment projects.

During the 2023 - 2024 academic year, HESA students will participate in a two sequential assessment courses in the UConn Higher Education and Student Affairs (HESA) master’s program.

Foundational to these courses are ongoing service-learning assessment projects at sites across UConn. In teams of three or four, first year HESA students will use the fall semester to write assessment proposals that aim to examine or explore issues identified by each of their host sites. The teams will then use the spring semester to conduct their assessment projects, present on their findings at HESA Assessment Day, and write reports for each of their sites. For example, a team from this past year conducted an assessment and wrote a comprehensive report that examined and explored sense of belonging among campus change students in the Honors Program. In short, these teams aid in assessment efforts at UConn while gaining competence related to assessment as they prepare for their professional careers in student affairs.
