  • Presidential M1 Mentorship Program Awardees

    The Cato T. Laurencin Institute for Regenerative Engineering at UConn has announced the selection of its 2023 Presidential M1 Mentorship Program Awardees.

    The four new M1 Mentors comprise a cadre of accomplished faculty members that aims to create a national model for best practices in mentorship of underrepresented students and faculty in the biomedical sciences.

    Each M1 Mentor possesses high caliber mentoring experience, a commitment to engage and retain underrepresented individuals along the biomedical science pipeline, and a record of success in securing research funding.

    2023 Presidential M1 Mentors:

    Jenna Bartley, Ph.D.Assistant Professor, Center on Aging and Department of Immunology, UConn Health

    Kristin Morgan, Ph.D.Assistant Professor, School of Engineering, Biomedical Engineering Department, University of Connecticut

    Mu-Ping Nieh, Ph.D.Professor, School of Engineering, Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Department, University of Connecticut

    Gualberto Ruaño, M.D., Ph.D.Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry & Assistant Director for Special Projects, The Cato T. Laurencin Institute for Regenerative Engineering, University of Connecticut
