Through the Center for Access & Postsecondary Success (CAPS), the UConn Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program (McNair Scholars Program) equips first-generation and/or minority undergraduate students with tools to succeed at UConn and prepare them for successfully pursuing a Ph.D. Year-round, students are immersed in research projects and other scholarly activities, intensive graduate school preparation programming, and faculty and staff mentoring to promote enrollment and success in a Ph.D. program of study.
CAPS would like to send our congratulations to the 13 UConn students who have been named McNair Scholars! Nationwide, McNair Scholars are recognized as the most prepared students to succeed in earning a PhD degree. A special naming ceremony will occur in September to celebrate this prestigious achievement.
