Dr. Megan O’Grady was awarded $1,500,000 to continue the Center for Prevention Evaluation and Statistics (CPES) at UConn Health in the Department of Public Health Sciences (DPHS) for three years. This award comes from the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) via funding from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). CPES was first established in 2015 and has two main goals: 1) support DMHAS through identification, collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of substance use prevention and mental health promotion data and 2) increase access to and use of behavioral health data among stakeholders. CPES provides core services related to Data Curation (https://preventionportal.ctdata.org/), evaluation and assessment, and local and regional data capacity building. CPES (CPES | Department of Public Health Sciences (uconn.edu)) is coordinated by Jennifer Sussman (Research Associate II) and is staffed by a data analyst, graduate assistants, and a clinical research assistant.
