  • Health Insurance Open Enrollment - 5/26 Deadline

    The annual Health Insurance Open Enrollment period for state of Connecticut employees is underway through Friday, May 26, 2023.  

    Any changes made during Open Enrollment will be effective July 1, 2023

    There are no changes to the medical or dental plans.  No action is required if you wish to remain enrolled in your current coverage; your current elections will automatically continue. The Care Compass website (https://carecompass.ct.gov/openenrollment/) includes information about the available plan options. 

    A summary of your current health plans/coverages can be viewed on the Core -CT home page > Benefits > Benefits Summary 

    Making Changes

    • During open enrollment, you may:
      • change medical and/or dental plans
      • add or drop coverage for your eligible family members
      • enroll if you previously waived coverage
      • enroll in the Health Enhancement Program (HEP) if you previously waived enrollment
    • Employees who wish to make changes during this open enrollment period may enter changes directly in CORE-CT until Friday, May 26, 2023.
      • Follow the Open Enrollment Job Aid instructions for entering changes and uploading supporting proof documentation into CORE-CT.   
        • Please note that CORE-CT will be unavailable on May 11 and May 25.
      • If a dependent is being added to insurance a copy of supporting documentation (i.e. marriage license, long form birth certificate, etc.) is also required and must be uploaded directly into CORE-CT at the time changes are entered.
      • No action is required if you wish to remain enrolled in your current coverage; your current elections will automatically continue. Please do not click ‘select’ on the Open Enrollment Event unless you intend to make changes.

    Additional Information

    • The Health Insurance Open Enrollment Period does not pertain to the Flexible Spending Plans - MEDFLEX and DCAP.  There is a separate enrollment period held (usually in October) for MEDFLEX and DCAP; those plans are administered by TASC (888-698-1429 or www.cttasc.com.)   
    • Retirement beneficiaries may be updated at any time by doing the following:
      • Members of the State Employees Retirement System must complete the CO-999 Form and return it to Human Resources (benefits@uconn.edu). 
      • Members of the Alternate Retirement Program must complete two forms:
