  • Postdocs Health Insurance Open Enrollment

    2023-2024 Health Insurance Open Enrollment for Postdoctoral Research Associates

    The annual Postdoctoral Research Associate Health Insurance Open Enrollment period will be held from May 1, 2023 through May 26, 2023.  During open enrollment, you may change dental plans, add or drop coverage for your eligible family members, or enroll in a medical and/or dental plan if you previously waived coverage.

    Any dental plan changes will be effective July 1, 2023, and any medical/prescription plan changes will be effective September 1, 2023.

    The new Quantum Health resource (replacing Health Navigator) is available via telephone, web, and online messenger chat; this tool is designed to help employees navigate their medical/dental benefits, including finding physicians/dentists/facilities, answering questions about benefits, and troubleshooting issues.

    Please note the following important information:

    Dental Insurance

    • There are 4 dental plan options (Basic, Enhanced, Total Care DHMO, DHMO)
    • There is a centralized benefits website with information about the dental plan options - https://carecompass.ct.gov/state/dental/

    Medical/Prescription Insurance

    • Coverage is available through the Connecticut Partnership Plan
    • The bi-weekly premiums for the Partnership Plan, subject to final confirmation, will most likely be as follows:

    No action is required if you wish to remain enrolled in your current coverage; your current elections will automatically continue.

    Employees who wish to make changes during this open enrollment period must complete the Postdoctoral Research Associate Open Enrollment Form and return it to Human Resources by May 26, 2023 via e-mail to Benefits@uconn.edu or via fax to 860-486-0378 if the form contains social security numbers.
