  • Human Subjects Requested: Cultural Emotions Study

    The Cultural Understanding of Emotions Study / Estudio Sobre la Comprensión Cultural de las Emociones

    Parents of children ages 6-12 years old are invited to participate in the Cultural Understanding of Emotions Study (CUES).  This study is aimed at gaining a better understanding of the ways in which Latino parents help their children learn about their emotions and how to manage them.

    What: Participation takes place remotely. You will be invited to participate in a 90-minute focus group with other parents that will be conducted on-line. You will be asked to discuss your beliefs and practices about emotions.

    You will have the option to participate in an English- or Spanish-language group, and each group will be led by a bilingual and bicultural member of the research team. 

    You will receive a $50 gift card for participating in the focus group.

    Who: Adults of Mexican or Puerto Rican background who are the parent of a child 6 -12 years old.

    When: Groups are being scheduled throughout April and May.
