The Connecticut Department of Transportation will resume charging fares for bus services on Saturday, April 1, 2023. The fares had been suspended since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The HuskyGo shuttle bus service around and near the UConn Storrs campus will continue to be free. However, those that use any other service such as CTTransit, CTTransit Express and Windham Region Transit District (WRTD), will have to pay a fare.
UConn students can request a U-Pass CT at no cost on a semester-by-semester basis for unlimited use of CTTransit, CTTransit Express, CT Fasttrak train service, and many regional transportation services, including WRTD. Students will be required to have their U-Pass CT with them physically to ensure that no fare will be required.
