Accessible PowerPoint Presentations for Your Class or Website

In this session we will discuss best practice when creating PowerPoint presentations to ensure they are accessible. The strategies we’ll cover are:
- Establish Slide Layout
- Ensure the reading order is accurate
- Give every slide a unique title
- Include captions for live presentations
- Include captions for recorded video
- Avoid animations and automatic slide transitions
- Use true tables with headers
- Add alt-text for images
- Use descriptive hyperlinks
- Use sans serif fonts such as Arial, Calibri, and Verdana
- Use Accessibility Checkers in Office and HuskyCT (Blackboard Ally)
